The Distributing Agency for Charities, established in terms of the Lotteries Act (No. 57 of 1997), as amended, is once again in the position to consider applications for funding from the proceeds of the National Lottery.

In adjudicating the applications the Charities Distributing Agency will focus on the following areas:

  • Expansion of home-based care services through training and infrastructure development for the aged, the sick, vulnerable as well as the orphaned children, the disabled and rehabilitation homes, so as to enhance the standard of living in the rural, under-privileged and poor communities.

  • Provision of educational facilities designed to enhance literacy through early childhood education, adult literacy, vocational training and mentoring for skills development that include the disabled persons.

  • Social welfare developmental programmes.
